Phytic acid and phytate, and
the anti-nutritional function

he chemical name of
phytic acid is myo-inositol 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 hexakis
dihydrogen phosphate, it always binds with mineral element
and generates phytate, which exists widely in plant.
Especially in the seed of paddy, corn, bean, and oil plants,
the content of phytate reaches 1%~5%. And 50%~80% of the
total phosphorus exists in the form of phytate in seed.
Phytate is the basic reserve form of phosphorus in plant.

phytate cannot be
utilized by animal until it is hydrolyzed into inorganic
phosphate in digest tract, but the monogastric animal can
hardly secrete the phytase. Therefore, animal cannot utilize
the phosphorus in botanic feed material sufficiently.
3£®Phytic
acid is one kind of the anti-nutritional factor. It carries
negative charge in the narrow Ph value, and can chelate with
protein or cation with positive charge , which is a strong
chelator.

Phytic acid can bind with the metal ions such as Ca, Mg, Cu,
Fe, Mn, and Zn, and form stable compound Thus it makes the
ion hard to be digested and utilized, and burdens the need
of such ion.
n
In
the low or medium Ph value, phytic acid will bind with the
alkaline group of protein and precipitate the protein, which
lowers the digestion and utilization of protein.
n
Phytic acid also can inhibit or reduce the activity of
proteinase, amylase, and lipase in digestive tract, thus
influences the regular metabolism and physiological
function.
It is proved that,
applying phytase, which yield from the modern
bio-engineering technique, is one of the most efficient ways
to enhance the utilization of phosphorus in vegetable feed
material and reduce the anti-nutritional function of phytic
acid.

Factors to affect
function of Phytase

Applied effect of phytate relates to the phytate content in
feed material. If the phytate content is low in feed
material, then it cannot offer sufficient substrate for
phytase to release enough phosphorus in need for animal,
though phytase is plenteous.

The
granular processes must pass through the high-heat regulate
granulating, and it can destroy the activity of the regular
powder phytase. VTR's Granular Microtech 5000 has adopted
the advanced granulating technique, which largely increase
the heat-endurance, and makes it more suitable for granular
feed.

100% dicalcium phosphate with 80mg/kg phytase respectively.
The result indicates that replace 50% dicalcium phosphate
with 80mg/kg phytase can improve pig's performance better
than other groups, which can increase the ADG by 15.6%,
improve the feed/gain by 11.3%.
Replace 50%, 75%, 100%
dicalcium phosphate with 80mg/kg phytase respectively in
growing and finishing pig's diet. The result indicates that
replace 50% dicalcium phosphate with 80mg/kg phytase can
improve digestive rate of dry substance by 5.86%.
Replace 50%, 75%,

that all the phytase groups can improve digestive rate of P;

Manual
calculation
Method 1:
Add Microtech
5000 base on the above dosage can replace 50%~75% Dicalcium
phosphate in feed, meanwhile add limestone to supplement the
Ca content in Dicalcium phosphate. The rest formula space
can be applied to modify the formula or supplement with the
inexpensive material such as zeolite.
Method 2:
Calculate the
phytate content in feed, and add Microtech 5000 according to
the proportion of 1gram phytate: 150~200U phytase. Then
calculate the available P which it can provide, and confirm
the replacement of dicalcium phosphate. Meanwhile, add
limestone to supplement the Ca content in dicalcium
phosphate. The rest formula space can be
applied to modify the formula or supplement with the
inexpensive material such as zeolite.
n Optimum
calculation
Input the
potential P value of Microtech 5000 into the formula raw
material data base, and limit the dosage to 60-100g/T, then
get the optimum formula through the formula calculation
system..
Precaution
n
The
additive dosage of this product is rather small. Premix it
with feedstuff, then add it to the large quantities and mix
to be even.
n If
there is remainder after opened, sealed store is necessary,
avoid moisture.
